Job Summary:
We are seeking to recruit a skilled and compassionate Dentist to diagnose and treat various dental issues and promote good oral health among our patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be knowledgeable in general medicine, and possess strong active listening skills, advanced problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work in a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat dental problems by checking teeth, gums, and other parts of the mouth, along with X-rays and tests.
- Prepare patients for treatment by applying oral sedation or anaesthesia.
- Identify tooth decay and replace cavities with fillings.
- Clean teeth and remove plaque.
- Prescribe medications as needed.
- Educate patients on proper mouth cleaning techniques, flossing and fluoride use.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Participate in administrative duties and risk management.
- Provide quality medical care to patients under the supervision of the HOD, Consultants, and other senior medical staff.
- Be “on-call” or participate in shift rosters as required.
Requirements:
- A valid license to practice medicine from the Nigerian Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery.
- 1-3 years of experience as a medical officer.
- Knowledgeable in General Medicine and other related areas of medical practice.
- Valuable sympathetic bedside manners, strong active listening skills and advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, strong ability to work well under extreme pressure, and self-discipline.
